Community Alliance Trust applies to Mission Christmas

The Community Alliance Trust recently applied to Radio Forth’s Mission Christmas for presents which will be distributed to a few partner organisations to make sure that young people in the area have a present to open on Christmas Day.

Susan Carr, Chairperson of the Community Alliance Trust, told us: “Once again we must give our sincere and grateful thanks to Radio Forth’s Mission Christmas and our partner organisations, Kids in the Street, Niddrie Mission, Magdalene Community Centre and The Neighbourhood Alliance for all their help in making this happen in the lead up to Christmas.

“Special thanks should also go to Faye Gray for organising it and helping to sort all the presents before distribution – there were literally more than a thousand some big and some small but all important.  We should also thank the White House Kitchen for allowing us to take over one of the rooms for the best part of a week and keeping us going with tea on demand and to KITS for going with us to pick up the presents from the Gyle (twice).

“This means that children across Craigmillar, Niddrie, Bingham, The Jewel and the Christians will have a Christmas present to open on Christmas Day and shows what can be achieved when we work together.  It has been hard work but very worth it and in the end it is all about the kids.  Hopefully everyone should have a present to open on Christmas Day so have a very happy and peaceful Christmas one and all!”
