The role and advantages of community news

digital-sentinel-resizedChronicle Online would like to invite you along to a meeting with the Digital Sentinel on Thursday 17 November 2016 at 6:30pm in the White House.

Come and find out more about what role community news sites play for local people and organisations.

Since the Chronicle Online was set up in October 2015 as a replacement for the old Chronicle newspaper we have aimed to bring you all the same news that you knew and loved. Members of the Chronicle Online board will be at the meeting to show you around the site and answer any questions you have about it.

A good local news site should always listen to the community it serves so we always like hearing from you. So, this is an opportunity to come and tell us what works and what doesn’t and if there’s anything from the old Chronicle newspaper that you miss or if there’s something new you’d like to see.

It is also an opportunity to find out how you can get involved with your local site, it is easier than you may think and doesn’t take up too much time.

As we have only been running for a year we are pleased to say that the experienced news site, Digital Sentinel who have been running in Wester Hailes for over 3 years, will be there to share their experiences of running a local news site, how rewarding it can be for community members to get involved and explain the importance of local news.
