4 levels – lower primary school, upper primary school, community young people/ secondary school and adults

All you have to do is use your imagination and have a go at making a picture, any type of picture.

Do you live in Bingham? What would you like to see in Bingham?

Do you live in Magdalene? What would you like to see in Magdalene?

Draw, paint, stick on pictures to make a collage – anything you like, but tell us what you would like to see in your community and the best ones will win a prize. Winners will be decided on 15th June at two community meetings.

Community Renewal have been carrying out a piece of work for the People’s Health Trust to hold local conversations which would then identify important themes, in both Bingham and Magdalene, and to explore with local people their vision for their specific community. We have been talking to lots of people and have lots of ideas from local folk but we would love to see what you can come up with. We would like local children, young people and adults to show us what you can do!

Drop your entries in to Alli in Bingham Community Centre, Rab in Magdalene Centre, Mr Brack in Brunstane Primary School or Sheila and Archie at Community Renewal in 3 Hays Avenue.

Why would it be great if you did this?

We will display all entries at two community meetings. These meetings will discuss specific project proposals that some local people have said would meet the needs emerging from themes that local people have also identified through local conversations. These findings will then be fed back to the People’s Health Trust and application made for funds to deliver projects that would help to work towards this vision in each distinct community.

Further investment would then be dependent on the ideas emerging from local people fitting in with the criteria of the People’s Health Trust, funds being available and the projects emerging being locally led and broadly supported and prioritised by the community. By doing this we would hope that:

  • Communities have more influence on decisions taken locally
  • Communities have more sustainable services and facilities that reflect their local priorities
  • People say their community is a better place to live

Keep an eye out for more information on the two project proposal meetings, both on 15th June, one in Bingham Community Centre, 11 – 1.00pm and the other in Magdalene Community Centre at 6.30pm until 9.00pm.  Refreshments and a bite to eat will be available at both meetings but please let us know if you are coming along so we can have enough for everyone. These meetings will be another chance to have your say, sign up to be involved in supporting different activities that you think will benefit the community. All welcome.
