Phyllis Stephen from The Edinburgh Reporter will be holding a Smartphone Filmmaking session on Tuesday 4 April from 4pm to 7pm in the White House, 70 Niddrie Mains Road, EH16 4BG.

In your hand or your pocket you have all the tools you need to make high quality video. At this free session you will learn how to frame the basic shots you need for a short movie, edit it and publish to your social media channels, all on your phone without the need for a laptop. Just remember, you will need to ensure that your device has plenty of memory to store the clips for editing.

Learn how to tell your story with the king of content – video. Whether you are in news, PR, you are a member of a social enterprise, a charity or a community council or some kind of activist group this is where you can start to learn about making high quality video.

The event is free and participants can buy refreshments at the White House. You can sign up for the event here
