Film Showcases The Work of Magdalene Locals

The Magdalene Edible Estates project this week released a short film by Edinburgh film maker Glenda Rome, showing the work of the local volunteers at the new Magdalene Community Garden. Since last summer they’ve transformed an unused corner of the Magdalene Estate into a space for growing fruit and vegetables for the whole community, with 40 raised beds, a forest garden, and a community shed. Watch the video below and let us know what you think!

Magdalene Edible Estates holds regular cookery sessions at the Community Centre, the next one being on Tuesday 9th February from 12 noon. Gardening sessions will be starting back soon, once the weather improves! If you’re interesting in joining in, contact mags@whee.org.uk, and you can follow our progress on our Facebook page here.

  1. What a lovely film. I think doing things like publishing this film on the Chronicle does a lot to promote all the good work that is going on in the Edinburgh area. Keep up the good work, all involved!
