Mindfulness-Based Relapse Prevention

For Addictive Behaviours

Continuing Professional and Personal Development

Are you interested in or practice mindfulness?

Do you have a professional role supporting people using substances or any habitual or potentially addictive behaviour?

Over the two weekends and in the company of peers, it will be a great opportunity –

  • To learn the structure and key practices of the eight Week MBRP Programme that promote a greater sense of choice, compassion and freedom for those struggling with addictive behaviours;
  • To embody the practices as a participant which you might be interested in using in your work with people in the future;
  • To ‘Take away’ the practices as an aid to support your daily working life for yourself as a self – care strategy and as an aid to promoting and fostering positive relationships.

The intention is to explore behaviour, consider actions that you may want to adapt and make the MBRP practices ‘real ‘for you. There will be no end-goal or pressure to make any changes over the two weekends. You will be asked to ‘work’ with something over the two weekends to get a ‘real feel’ for the practices anything from your relationship with: your mobile phone; watching TV; drinking too much tea, coffee, or fizzy drinks; shopping; food; getting lost surfing the net;, reacting to challenging emails, etc.
