Festive bus service by Lothian Buses

Lothian Buses say that there will be more buses running over the festive period than ever before.

On Thursday 24 December a Saturday service will run on all routes and will finish earlier than normal with the exception of the no 26 at 4:46am from Tranent and the no 44 at 5:04am from Balerno which will not run.

Some services will operate on Christmas day with the 26, 30, 44 and 113 all serving East Edinburgh. Services 30 and 113 will run hourly as well as the 44 which will be diverted via Leith Street instead of York Place and St Andrew Square. There will be 2 buses an hour on the 26 throughout the afternoon.

On Saturday 26 December the 14, 26, 30, 44, 49 & 113 will all serve the East of the city. Times vary so please check out the timetable below.

Sunday 27 December will see a normal Sunday service take place with a small number of services including no 15 not running.

On Monday 28, Tuesday 29 and Wednesday 30 December a Saturday service will run on all routes with the only changes being that the no 26 at 4:46am from Tranent and the no 44 at 5:04am from Balerno will not run.

A Saturday service will operate on all routes on Thursday 31 December which will finish earlier than normal.

Lothian Buses will be providing their FREE Hogmanay NightBus service again this year. Buses including the 26, 30 and 44 which serve East Edinburgh will run from roughly 0:20am until 4:00am.

The 14, 26, 30, 44 & 113 will all operate on Friday 1 January 2016 to a special timetable.

A Sunday service will run on Saturday 2 January 2016 on most services, however certain services will not operate including the no 2. Again the no 26 at 4:46am from Tranent and the no 44 at 5:04am from Balerno will not run.

A normal Sunday service will run on Sunday 3 January 2016 with the exception of a few services including the 15 which will not run.

All services are scheduled to return to their normal timetables by Monday 4 January 2016.
