MiW are established throughout Edinburgh city and assist parents with a wide range of issues, problems and concerns and signpost onto appropriate services along the way. Making it Work is a city wide project aimed to support unemployed lone parents whose youngest child is under 5.
What can we offer?
One-to-one appointments giving support, guidance and signposting:
- Money and benefits
- Confidence building
- Exploring directions and choices
- Family fun days and events
- Employability skills
- Link in to local services and information
- Education and training
What is it?
Development Workers will work on a one to one basis on long term engagements with individuals. The development worker will act as a key worker engaging and supporting individuals, but also using local services and agencies for specific specialist advice and building networks with the individual.
