Linguine Pasta for 6


75 g Unsalted Butter  £         0.22
1–2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil  £         0.06
250g Chestnut Mushrooms (slice mushrooms)  £         1.00
120g Chorizo Ring 225g chopped into small cubes about pinky nail size  £         1.25
2 garlic cloves, crushed  £         0.06
1 Bird Eye Chillie (optional)  £         0.09
1 x 400g/14oz can chopped tomatoes  £         0.34
1 tsp dried basil  £         0.03
1 tsp dried oregano  £         0.03
100ml/3½fl oz red or white wine (optional)  £         0.72
salt and freshly ground black pepper
Linguine Pasta 500G  £         0.59
1–2 tbsp Parmigiano Reggiano  £         0.45


Heat the olive oil and butter together till butter froths then add the crushed garlic, chirizo and chilli. Add  some ground pepper. Gently cook for 5 minutes then add the sliced mushrooms and simmer for a further 5 minutes till the mushrooms are soft.
Add the chopped tomatoes and wine ( or water) and bring to the boil then reduce the heat to a simmer and add the Basil and Oregano and simmer for 30 minutes.
For the Linguine bring a saucepan of salted water to the boil than stir the linguine and simmer for about 9-10 minutes or until the linguine is cooked with a bite to it. Drain add some pepper, butter & Parmigiano
Add the pasta sauce to the linguine and serve with a green salad
